Pondering God’s goodness

Then King David went in, sat in the Lord’s presence, and said,

Who am I, Lord God, and what is my house that you have brought me this far? (2 Samuel 7:18)

I was thinking this morning, “How often do I take the time to sit before the Lord and ponder his goodness to me?”

I think about how I became a Christian, all the people and circumstances he used.

I think about how he brought me to Japan and blessed me here.

I think about all trials he’s brought me through over the years.

All that and more makes me ask, “Who am I Lord, that you have brought me this far?”

How much would my life change if I pondered that more?

Lord, let your goodness toward me be the ground of all I do.
