The King who reigns

So the people sent men to Shiloh to bring back the ark of the covenant of the Lord of Armies, who is enthroned between the cherubim. (1 Samuel 4:4)

Father, you are not a God that can be manipulated as the Israelites tried to manipulate you.

And that includes me. You are my King.

So let me always give you the honor that you deserve.

The Lord reigns…

Your throne has been established
from the beginning;
you are from eternity. (Psalm 93:1-2)

In a world filled with trouble and turmoil, those are heartening words.

The Lord reigns. He is in control.

He was in control from the very beginning.

For he himself existed before anything was ever created.

And when the flood waters of Covid or other problems arise, he’s not worried. He is greater and mightier than them all.

So in these troubled times, let us reflect on those truths.

Our God reigns.
