Bringing others to the King’s table

I was thinking today about David’s kindness to Mephibosheth.

Mephibosheth was hiding and living in fear of death because usually when there was a new king, he would kill all his potential rivals, especially from a former king’s family.

But David instead showed kindness to Mephibosheth, restoring his life and bringing him to his table.

And that’s what Jesus did for us. We deserved death for our sins. But our King redeemed us, restoring our lives and bringing us to his table.

But I don’t want to just revel in his goodness to me. Like David, I want to bring other people to the King’s table too.

Lord, you’ve been so good to me. Show me today who I can bring to your table.
