Do you really speak righteously, you mighty ones?
Do you judge people fairly? (Psalm 58:1)

God was talking to Israel’s leaders and judges here, but those words really jumped out at me this morning.

It was as if God was saying to me, “Do you really speak righteously, Bruce? Do you judge people fairly?”

I’d like to think that all my words express God’s righteous character.

I’d like to think that I judge people fairly. That I don’t swiftly judge people without all the information.

But considering how strongly those words jumped out at me this morning, I wonder.

Search me, God, and know my heart…

See if there is any offensive way in me;
lead me in the everlasting way. (Psalm 139:23-24)
