Justifying myself?

And he told them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts. (Luke 16:15)

As I read Jesus’ words this morning, God reminded me how easy it is for me at times to justify what I do instead of repenting when he shows me things in my heart that aren’t right.

Even if I might convince other people that I’m right or even convince myself, Jesus knows my heart.

Jesus, help me to simply say to you, “Yes, Lord” not “Yeah, but”.
