An opportunity to bear witness

But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you. They will hand you over to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors because of my name.

This will give you an opportunity to bear witness. (Luke 21:12-13)

Verse 13 really struck me this morning.

Thankfully, I’ve never had to face persecution. But God reminded me this morning that whenever I face trials or hard times, to not just look at them as trials or hard times.

Because if I keep a trusting heart in my Father in the midst of my struggles, other people just might notice, giving me the opportunity to bear witness for Jesus.

I was thinking this morning of a chance I missed a while back because of a pity party I was throwing.

I don’t want to miss the next chance God gives me.
