Because you yourself love me

For the Father himself loves you… (John 16:27)

Father, thank you for your love.

It’s not that Jesus loves me but you keep your distance.

You yourself love me.

It’s not that you are like King Saul, hostile to me, and Jesus, like Jonathan, has to plead to you on my behalf. (1 Samuel 19)

You yourself love me.

And it’s not that when I have a need, I have to go through Jesus to get to you. I can go directly to you.

Because you yourself love me.

That’s such an incredible thought to ponder.
