For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me.
So don’t judge anything prematurely, before the Lord comes, who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God. (1 Corinthians 4:4-5)
Father, there is a danger in judging myself. There are far too many ways I can deceive myself, justifying anything I do.
But you are the judge. And when I stand before you on judgment day, you will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of my heart.
And yet, I don’t need to fear because I know that you will strengthen me to the end, and on that day, I won’t face one word of condemnation from you. (1 Corinthians 1:8)
So now, I stand before you, assured of your love, and pray as David did.
Test me, Lord, and try me;
examine my heart and mind.For your faithful love guides me,
and I live by your truth. (Psalm 26:2-3)
