(This is a revision of an earlier article I wrote years ago.)
But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man…
Every man who prays or prophesies with something on his head dishonors his head. (1 Corinthians 11:3-4)
There appear to be some cultural issues in this passage that Paul was dealing with which are a bit difficult to understand in our modern-day context, namely the issue of head coverings for men and women when praying or prophesying.
But as a man, two things are crystal clear to me.
1. Christ is my Head. My Leader. My King. And I am answerable to him.
2. So with every word, with every deed, I am to honor him in my life.
That’s the kind of man I strive to be.
And I hope that’s the kind of husband, father, and leader that my wife and daughter see in me.
