And he said, ‘The God of our ancestors has appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear the words from his mouth, since you will be a witness for him to all people of what you have seen and heard. (Acts 22:14-15)
I wonder how Paul felt when he heard those words?
Unworthy? Inadequate?
Considering his history, probably.
How do we feel when we hear those words?
“I have appointed you to know my will. To see me. To hear my voice. To be my witness.”
Honestly, my first reaction is, “I feel unworthy. I feel inadequate. God couldn’t be talking about me, could he?”
My second reaction, though, is amazement and wonder.
Because God means every word.
How about you? What is your reaction? Will you believe what God has said about you?
Father, every time I see those words, I stand amazed. Who am I that you would appoint me to all this? It’s hard to grasp.
But that doesn’t change your truth about me.
And I choose to believe.
