When he saw the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and after he sat down, his disciples came to him. (Matthew 5:1)
What does it mean to be a disciple?
It struck me today that to be a disciple is to purposely come to Jesus to learn from him.
To have a heart that is humble, knowing that we do need to learn from him. A heart that hungers and thirsts for righteousness. A heart that seeks to be like its Lord.
Without that heart, we lose our saltiness, we lose our light.
So my prayer today is this:
Lord I come to you. Make me like you.
