He is not weak in dealing with you, but powerful among you.
For he was crucified in weakness, but he lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by God’s power. (2 Corinthians 13:3-4)
Those words resonated with me.
Our Lord is no wimp.
Humble?
Yes.
Meek?
Yes.
But wimp?
No way.
Yes, he was crucified in weakness. But even in weakness, Jesus was no wimp. He faced the cross with courage and resolve.
And now, weak is the last word we can ascribe to him. He is powerful among us. Our Lord. Our Judge. And he reigns.
But the amazing thing is that he now imparts his power and authority to us as his ambassadors, his representatives.
More than that, he imparts his power and authority to us as children of God and as his coheirs.
We are not wimps.
Humble?
Yes.
Meek?
Yes.
But not wimps.
So let’s not act like wimps.
Rather, let us stand strong in the power and authority our Lord has granted us.
