But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”
Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.
So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
Lord, do I believe that your grace is sufficient? That your power is made complete in my weakness. Do I delight in weakness?
That’s hard to say. I hate being weak.
But when I’m weak, I can’t be independent. I’m forced to be dependent on you. And that’s when I’m closest to you. Because you pour out your strength into me. And I realize again how much you love me.
Jesus, you lived that way for 33 years on earth. And you were closer to the Father than anyone ever was.
That’s what I want. To be close to the Father. To be close to you.
