But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer who works—this person will be blessed in what he does. (James 1:21, 25)
Father of lights, you don’t change like the shifting shadows. You are good, and every good and perfect gift comes from you—including your Word of life.
Your Word does not bind me up. It sets me free.
So let me not just glance at it and forget it. Rather, let me look at it intently. And as I do, expose my heart. Help me to humbly receive the Word you’ve implanted within me, doubting neither your wisdom or your goodness.
And through your Word, change me from the inside out, making me more like your Son, moment to moment, day to day.
