“Come to me”

John 7

If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. (John 7:37)

I was thinking on that verse this morning.

“Come to me.”

When I’m tired and need refreshing, where do I go?

Honestly speaking, I often go to Youtube. Or perhaps a book. Or a computer game.

But how often do I go to Jesus?

Sometimes I do.

Going out for walks with Him.

Playing the guitar and worshiping.

But too often, that’s number 3 or 4 on the list.

“Come to me.”

That must have been much easier for the disciples when Jesus was physically present on earth.

And yet, it was something Jesus often did with his Father.

Drawing near in prayer. Taking the time to listen. Taking time to receive the Father’s love.

I could definitely use more of that.

Lord, teach me what it means to come to you and to be refreshed in your presence. May I be able to say of you, “All my springs—all of them—are in you.” (Psalm 87:7)
