Our Father’s heart

Romans 2

Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? (Romans 2:4)

I’ve always kind of thought of despising the riches of God’s kindness, restraint, and patience as treating his grace like a doormat for my own sins.

But I was thinking this morning that when I fail to have his heart, when I fail to show kindness, restraint, and patience to others, am I not despising these things he has so richly given me?

God has shown such kindness, restraint, and patience to me.

Should I not show those things to others that they might find repentance too?

Father, give me your heart.
